This service offers representatives access to their business clients' tax information. Represent a client is also for employees who need to access tax information online for their employer.

You need to register yourself through Represent a client and then provide your representative identifier or your firm's Business Number to your business clients. They can then authorize your online access through My Business Account, or with the newly revised Form RC59, Business Consent Form. Once authorized, you access your clients' business account information and services through Represent a client.

Level 1 access will allow the CRA to disclose information from your client's account(s) to you, for example - viewing information using My Business Account. With Level 2 access, Canada Revenue Agency can disclose information from your client's account(s) and you can also request changes to program accounts.

New in Represent a client

  • The employee/representative lists have been updated to provide a view of the activities performed by representatives. The ability to view activities is available to business owners, senior administrators and group administrators.
  • Representatives are able to remove themselves from a group. If you, the representative, are the only group administrator, you must first associate another group administrator prior to removing yourself from the group.
